Rekindling Abundance – Finding the medicine in plants and stories
Emerson College, England
3rd -7th July 2023
In this course, we will enter the subtle and magical realms of plants and stories with all our senses. With the guidance of medical herbalist Hannah Robson and storyteller Roi Gal-Or, we will be sitting with plants, tasting and observing them, embarking on sensorial adventures, embodiment exercises and plant encounters to discover how the almost invisible little weeds, once befriended, can become trusted, recognisable companions. Together we will experiment with making different medicinal plant preparations such as ointments, oxymels, teas and maybe even poultices, depending on what the plants and the group call for! We will also work with traditional plant story wisdom and create new medicinal stories for our time

"Roi is one of those people that is going to change the way you look at life and yourself. He's funny, grounded and sees the good in you and is able to let it come out with ease and, mostly, without telling it to you. His wish to lead people to "wholeheartedly" tell stories becomes a reality by the way he tells stories and by the way he is during the time spent together."
Chiara , (York storytelling workshop participant, 2019)
"I loved being around people from so many different backgrounds and countries.
Deep immersion into deep stories.Yeah! I feel like my brain is different!"
Lisa Nelson, USA
"I have grown as a storyteller and teacher and have seen others take flight
on wings they didn't realise they had within themselves."
Judith Frost-Evans, storyteller, biography worker, museum host, founder of In The Belly of the Whale School of Storytelling, New Zealand
'Outstanding level of teaching! Roi has extraordinary listening skills,
the safe holding skills of a brain surgeon and creative energy enough to light up a football pitch. He and both courses of his that I have been on have been exceptional'
James Benn, UK

"Roi is an exceptional storyteller and teacher -- his humanity, insight, compassion and how he honours people is both rare and precious.
The four weekends provided a perfect balance of tuition, discussion, practise and coaching through which I saw my own storytelling skills and those of my fellow students come on in leaps and bounds."
Ravi Khanna, leadership development consultant, UK
